deux sevres

The Dordogne region, nestled between the Loire Valley and the Pyrenees, is also known by its ancient name of ‘Perigord’.

With far reaching beautiful countryside dotted with over 1500 chateaus, fortified hilltop villages, roman ruins and the famous prehistoric caves of the Lascaux the area is full of French history and charm.

Along with quiet roads, friendly people and excellent food the Dordogne is a cyclist’s dream… perfect whether you simply want to cycle to the boulangerie, spend the day exploring medieval villages or just go for a cycle ride with your family, the Dordogne has something for everyone.

Why not discover the Dordogne region for yourself?

Voie Verte – The ‘Green Routes’

Voie Vertes are a network of ‘green routes’ crisscrossing the Dordogne. The routes can only be used by pedestrians, cyclists and horse riders... all motorised vehicles are not allowed. The routes are therefore safe and ideal for use by families and those with young children.
